Human nature is the concept that there are a set oflogical
characteristics, including ways of thinking, feeling and acting, that
all normal human beings have in common. The branches of science associated with the study of human nature include sociology,
sociobiology and psychology, particularly
evolutionary psychology and developmental psychology.
Philosophers and theologians have also carried out research on human nature.
The issue of free will and determinism underlies
much of the debate about human nature.
Free Will
or agency, refers to the ability of
humans to make genuinely free
choices
(in some sense). As it relates to humans,
the thesis of determinism implies that human
choices are fully caused by internal and external forces.But is the above statement true, or even understood...Are we as a species "hard wired"
to be a certain way in certain situations
and is this "hard wiring" a result of natural evolution
or was in nature instinctive ?We all have "learned" responses and
behavior patterns taught to us by our parents, schools, churches, and society in general. A few of of us (us meaning our species)
follow and abide by these learned behavior patterns because we do have "free will"
and we choose to do so...A few of us (ditto) do not follow or abide
by these learned behavior patterns for the
same reason and we choose a different path
based on personal, developmental, psychological
and physical wants, needs, and desires. Why then do some murder, steal, rape,
commit adultery, and become the least desirable types in our society when
we have the learned education that these things are "wrong" ????Do you believe that some are born without
the ability to control their behavior ?Do you believe that the people who
murder, steal, rape, commit adultery, and become
the least desirable types in our society do so by choice.Do you believe that human nature is
pre-determined or a ever changing learned calculated response to any given situation.

After 32 years in business, I would think that
I had seen most that one could see associated
with the products and services we provide.....You see, for those that don't know, My wife and I own a Florist,
which as been in the same location for 32 years...
so we have come to know a great number of people over the years...
Older, younger, single, married, etc...etc...etc... As a Florist one has to have certain codes of honor and
conduct and be very discrete where called for.....
As I do have knowledge of persons(both married and not) who shall we say
depend on my nearsightedness when it comes to them favoring others (than their significant others)
with flowers, candy, cards, etc...etc...etc....These type transactions are always in cash, in person,
and expected to be kept strictly confidential....Which brings me to the main point of this post......Some of our long standing accounts are very well to do people
in the community,
well respected, highly though of by others
and generally considered to be great people.....
Now comes the but......But some of these persons are having other than significate-other
affairs and I have this knowledge, I know and have
met most of the other persons involved. They know I know....
I know they know I know...but we never speak of it...
we just conduct ourselves as all is normal
and right in the world and go about our business..........As a business owner that services these persons,
I can not and never would betray the confidence placed in my hands... What brought this on today is I delivered 2 dozen red roses
and candy to a customers wife....however...
I delivered them to her mothers house which is
where she is living now as she has moved out of her
married home and away from her husband...
He sent them in an attempt to try to get her to talk to him about why she left him in hopes they could resolve their problem.... He is one of the above customers I have been talking
about, and I can only assume that somehow his actions caught up with him...When I arrived to deliver the roses, her mother answered the door...
I stated I had a delivery for "Judy"...
(names have been changed to protect the guilty)....Her mother said Judy could not come to the door at present
and asked me who the roses were from....
My standard response to this question is always "I really don't know but I sure the attached card will explain everything"......She still has not taken the roses from me..I am still holding them...
so she removes the card and reads it....
then she informs me that I may deposit the roses in the garbage can beside the garage door...
that they are not wanted....I explained that I could not do that but
I would place them on the front porch and that "Judy" could take whatever action she saw necessary...and I left........ So today was a overdose of human nature....mine...the husbands...the wife's.. the mothers....Life is exciting....learn to study it...and to enjoy the portrait it exposes to you......
