Clintons Report $109.2M for 7 Years

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Clinton reported $20.4 million in income for 2007 and more than $109 million since 2000 as they gave the public the most detailed look at their finances in eight years.

The campaign released tax returns from 2000 through 2006 and gave highlights from their 2007 return. The Clintons have asked for an extension for filing their 2007 tax returns, citing the dissolution of a blind trust last year.

My point is this...They would not release the details of where the income for 2007 came from...The details of 2000 to 2006 are showing some very suspicious income from foreign people and foreign governments which are raising certain questions as to just how indebted the Clinton's are to concerns not in the best interest of the United States or we the people thereof......What ever they are afraid of in 2007 they are going to try to stall and hide the particulars....Why....Why indeed.....

Where are a referee uniform and a whistle when you need one? We need a ref to call a foul on Hillary Clinton for a stunt she pulled in Philadelphia. On Tuesday, Clinton entered a meeting of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO to the theme song from the "Rocky" movies and compared herself to the Italian Stallion.

Never mind for the moment the glaringly obvious disparities there; does Clinton know Rocky lost his first heavyweight fight?

This leads to the second reason for a foul call. Rocky is sacred to Philadelphians. Rocky is a road map for many of the locals to follow (sometimes literally - to get from the Italian market to the Schuylkill), and proudly cited as a metaphor for their city. If you are not from there, you cannot even begin to understand his relevance. It is rather brazen, borderline patronizing, for an upper crust Ivy League-educated lawyer and Illinoisan turned New Yorker living part-time in Washington D.C. to try to shoplift the blue-collar working man's hometown hero.

Invoking Rocky outside of Philadelphia or by a non-Philadelphian is a major crime against its citizens' humanity. Find your own lowbrow, illiterate, loan-shark-enforcer-turned-boxing-underdog from your own miserable city for your inspiration.

Beyond the misuse of imagery though, there was a flagrant foul committed here. Going for the lowest common denominator available to make a connection to voters is insincere and is a big disservice to the voting public, who live in cities with real problems. It would have been much more sensible for Clinton to have made this less about her, the struggling candidate, and more about Philadelphia, the city which struggles with its highest murder rate in 20 years, the highest incarceration rate in the country, a high school graduation rate hovering around 50%, one of the highest costs of doing business in the country,and some of the most poorly maintained roads in the U.S.
